The Show

The musical journey of the military tattoo "Musikparade" is very varied: the main focus of attention is, of course, on military or marching music and the most famous marches are played, but the orchestras – usually seven – have a large repertoire that includes "civilian" brass band music such as jazz, evergreens and current hits as well. The program is rounded off with special attractions that change each year – from choruses to folklore all the way to exotic folk music.

The orchestras in the Musikparade, by the way, are made up completely new each year; regular guests can look forward to new musicians and new choreographs every year. The orchestras in the Musikparade are some of the best in the world and most of them are already well-known to music lovers from numerous television broadcasts. The official World Champions in brass band music have also been guests of the Musikparade such as the German Orchestra or military orchestras from Poland, the Ukraine, Czech Republic, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Scotland, the USA and other nations.

This international music show is also a joy to behold – with their magnificent, colorful uniforms and some very surprising and ingenious choreographs, the events are a feast for the eyes. After the opening ceremony by the "Nations Orchestra" made up of musicians selected from the different orchestras by the principal conductor which begins by playing some marches, each orchestra plays music and marches alone. The highlight of this event is the Grand Finale in which all of the approximately 400 orchestra members join together to play music – from the "Radetzky" to the "Florentiner" march or "Alte Kameraden" all the way to the lovely German classic, "Muss I denn …"

Let yourself be drawn into the spell of the three hour show (with a 15 minute break) with honest to goodness, perfectly orchestrated and "hand-made" live music and look forward to the next Musikparade near you.
